What is your Privacy Policy?
Due to the sensitive nature of the Scholarship, we respect the privacy of applicants and recipients by not publishing personal information, including your photograph, or disclosing personal information, such as to your university; however, an alias or "anonymous" will be used in lieu of your real name and the college or university and field of study may be published on this website.


Why do you require a photograph?

As part of our Privacy Policy, we will never republish your photograph in order to protect your identity.  Your photograph simply helps us put a face to the "applicant", making you a real person to us.  We do not discriminate.

 

If I've previously applied, am I required to resubmit the same criteria?
Previous applicants and recipients need only submit a new 500-word essay, proof of registration, and transcripts since your last application submission.

 

Will my essay or thank you letter be published?

Your essay or thank you letter become the sole property of the Joshua Gomes Memorial Scholarship Fund and may be published in portion or in its entirety on this site or otherwise at our discretion without prior express consent of the applicant; however, we adhere to our strict Privacy Policy of using an alias or "anonymous" in lieu of your real name in addition to the name of your college or university and field of study.  Any identifying content will be edited to protect your privacy.


When is the application due?

Complete Scholarship applications are due no later than July 15th.  Applications should be received in one package.


What happens if my application is submitted incomplete?

Incomplete applications will not be considered for that year's scholarship; however, if you are informed that your application was rejected for being incomplete, you may submit the missing information for the following year's scholarship.  You will also be required to include current transcripts (if different) and proof of registration.

 

How will I learn of the decision made about the Scholarship?
All applicants will receive a personal letter by mail or email after July 15th but before August 31st.
